Google Japan's annual April Fools' keyboards
APR 01 2010
Google Japan has released an absurd but functional physical input device each 1 April since 2010, beginning with the Google 日本語入力 ドラムセットバージョン (Drum Set Version). Later entries include a Morse code input (2012), a teacup keyboard (2021), a 65-inch single-strip Gboard Bar (2022) and a Möbius-strip double-sided board (2024). Google publishes the circuit diagrams and firmware openly in its mozc-devices repository. A recurring annual campaign.
