Bangladeshi papers reprint The Onion's moon-landing spoof

The satirical US paper The Onion published a spoof on 31 August 2009 claiming Neil Armstrong had concluded the Apollo 11 landing was 'an elaborate hoax' after watching persuasive YouTube videos. The Bangladeshi daily Manab Zamin reprinted it as fact and apologised the following day on learning The Onion is satirical; the same day a second Bangladeshi paper, The New Nation, ran it too. Manab Zamin's associate editor said: 'We thought it was true so we printed it without checking.'
