Google announced an Android app that would translate animal vocalisations into human language, tagged 'Bridging the gap between animals and humans'. The promotional material featured people holding phones up to cows, birds and dogs and receiving species-specific translations. It was presented as a genuine beta from Google UK with a full product page.
