Tirana rebuilt as a capital

Under Zog, Tirana was developed from a small Ottoman town into a recognisable capital, gaining a central boulevard, ministry buildings and government squares. Italian architects and Italian loan money did much of the work. The ceremonial centre of modern Tirana is substantially a product of the reign.
