An episode segment from KQED's Saving the Bay on the wartime transformation of San Francisco Bay into the largest shipbuilding operation anywhere. Henry Kaiser's Richmond yards produced 747 ships in four years, and by mid-1944 women made up more than a quarter of Richmond's production workers. Broadcast and posted in 2010.
