Sam Pepper's "Killing Best Friend Prank"

Pepper staged a fake kidnapping in which Sam Golbach was tied up and forced to watch a masked man appear to shoot his best friend Colby Brock dead on a rooftop. Golbach was left believing his friend had been murdered for roughly 30 seconds before the reveal. A petition asking YouTube to remove Pepper's channel gathered more than 117,000 signatures.
