TikTok and K-pop fans sabotage the Tulsa rally
JUN 20 2020
On 12 June 2020 a TikTok user posted a video urging people to reserve free tickets to Donald Trump's Tulsa rally with no intention of attending; it drew over two million views. K-pop fan accounts amplified the call and deliberately deleted posts after a day or two to avoid detection. The campaign claimed nearly one million registrations. On 20 June the Tulsa Fire Department counted about 6,200 attendees in the 19,000-capacity BOK Center and an outdoor overflow stage was scrapped.
