Breaking down the trash we find pt. 2: Dolly Ropes These plastic strands are attached to the bottom of trawl nets and they’re a serious hazard for marine life. Non-biodegradable and easily lost at sea, they fragment into smaller pieces, pollute our waters, and was ashore where they get trapped along rocks and soil (& we pick them up!) We’re cleaning in wildlife rich areas, especially seabirds, where debris like this can be deadly.
