Assassination of Avni Rustemi

Avni Rustemi, a nationalist deputy and opponent of Zogu, was shot in Tirana on 20 April 1924 and died of his wounds. The opposition blamed Zogu's circle. Rustemi's death was the trigger for the crisis that became the June Revolution.
