Newsreel coverage of the proclamation of the kingdom

The September 1928 proclamation of the kingdom was covered by newsreel cameras, with British Pathé holding footage of crowds at a parade understood to mark the occasion. There was no coronation ceremony to film, so the surviving material shows processions and public assembly. It is among the earliest moving images of the Albanian state. Footage described as Zog's 'coronation' is mislabelled: no coronation took place. Archive descriptions using that word are cataloguing conventions, not evidence of a ceremony.
