Willard Worden's night view of a Chinatown alley

Willard Worden's gelatin silver print Midnight in Chinatown shows a San Francisco Chinatown street after dark, three years before the quarter burned in the 1906 fire. Worden was among the photographers who built a commercial market for atmospheric Chinatown night scenes. The print is in the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
