Walter Lippmann and public opinion

An introduction to Lippmann's 1922 book Public Opinion and its argument that citizens act on the pictures in their heads rather than on the world itself. Lippmann concluded that news could not supply what democratic theory assumed it would, which made the management of opinion look inevitable to his contemporaries. The video's framing of journalism is pointed and worth weighing against the book.
