Seattle police open an anti-swatting registry

In October 2018 Seattle police launched an opt-in registry allowing residents who believe they are at risk to flag their address in advance. When a 911 call taker receives a critical-incident report, the system simultaneously shows whether swatting concerns are registered there. Officers still respond, but arrive informed. The programme was a direct response to requests from streamers and to the Finch killing.
