'Verstehen Sie Spaß?' - first broadcast

Germany's best-known hidden-camera prank show first aired on 31 January 1980 as a 30-minute ARD programme, co-produced by SDR and NDR. It was created and presented by the Swiss broadcaster Kurt Felix, who developed it from hidden-camera segments in his Swiss show Teleboy. Felix hosted for its first ten years and expanded it into a major Saturday-evening show in 1983.
