On 12 June 2014 a 4chan thread launched #EndFathersDay, a false-flag campaign in which users created sock-puppet accounts impersonating Black feminists calling to abolish Father's Day. Fox News aired a segment treating the campaign as genuine before it was debunked. Black women on Twitter identified the fake accounts and exposed the operation under the counter-hashtag #YourSlipIsShowing, one of the earliest documented community detections of coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
