Jackass: The Movie takes pranks to cinemas

MTV Films and Paramount released Jackass: The Movie on 25 October 2002, directed by Jeff Tremaine. It grossed $79.5 million worldwide against a small budget. The film proved that low-budget prank and stunt footage could carry a theatrical release, a commercial validation that later underwrote YouTube prankster film deals.
