The Hindu milk miracle - Ganesha statues 'drinking' milk
SEP 21 1995
On 21 September 1995 statues of Ganesha across India and the Hindu diaspora appeared to drink milk offered on spoons, in one of the largest claimed mass-miracle events in modern history; milk sold out within hours. It began before dawn on 20 September at a temple in southern New Delhi and spread to Malaysia, Europe, America, Kenya and Fiji. Scientists attributed it to capillary action and surface tension drawing milk out of the spoon and down the porous statue.
