Le déplacement de la Tour Eiffel (RTF, Journal de Paris)

On RTF's Journal de Paris, journalist Henri Di Donna interviewed an 'engineer' at the foot of the Eiffel Tower about plans to relocate the monument to make way for a grand municipal stadium, using visual effects to illustrate the move. Di Donna then played a tour guide misinforming credulous tourists. The INA catalogue record explicitly states the piece was made for 1 April. NOTE: this hoax is widely miscited online as 1979 or 1986, and variously attributed to the Seine destabilising the tower or to Disney buying it for Marne-la-Vallée; the INA primary record gives 1964 and a stadium.
