Why go beach cleaning until I find a shoe? Why not! Sometimes you need some little “goals” to lighten everything up a bit, when surrounded by devastating pollution all the time. (Anyone else’s brain work the same way? In constant need of little goals and milestones?) Anyway, shoes are just fun to find - I mean, how did they end up on a beach?? Over the past six years that I have been beach cleaning in the Arctic, most shoes I found were male working shoes - presumably from workers from the fishery or oil industry. Sometimes an odd flip flop here and there. Which still begs the question why any foot wear is on a beach at all - but oh
