What has helped me most to cut through that feeling of hopelessness and powerfulness is really just doing something - anything. For me, hope is action. It is saying: No. I refuse to participate in indifference. It’s deciding that even if I can’t fix everything, I can still choose how I move through the world. I can choose kindness over cynicism, community over isolation, participation over apathy. I can pick my fight. And then knowing, that all our actions are going to add up.
