Zog is reputed to have survived more than 55 attempts on his life during his reign, and some 600 blood feuds are said to have stood against him. The figures are conventionally repeated but rest on no itemised list. Only a handful of attempts, notably the 1924 parliament shooting and the 1931 Vienna attack, are individually documented. This is the central Zog legend and it should be presented as a reputation, not a count. The '55 attempts' and '600 blood feuds' numbers appear in the sources with the hedge 'reputedly' and no underlying enumeration; the number of verifiable attempts is in the low single digits.
