West End's slow-motion ten-minute 12-inch, mixed by Larry Levan and played at the Paradise Garage until the floor learned to move at under 100 BPM. Kenton Nix's rhythm track and Gardner's flat, unhurried vocal made a dance record out of almost nothing. It is the proof that Levan's room had its own tempo and its own idea of what a club record could be.
