Masters At Work's first record as Nuyorican Soul, on Nervous Records: congas, flute and a walking bassline turned into a house track with barely a drum machine in it. Vega and Gonzalez were two Latino kids from the Bronx and Brooklyn making Latin jazz legible to a house floor. Everything the project did later starts here.
