It Got Into Everything
The Beatles rebuilt pop production in one session in April 1966 with lyrics lifted from Leary. Rick Griffin drew posters deliberately at the edge of legibility. Pink Floyd lost their founder to it. Tom Wolfe fixed the era's image for everyone who was not there, and Hunter S. Thompson used it as a reporting method. Twenty years later Britain did the whole thing again with acid house, and produced its own moral panic and its own legislation. This facet is the part that outlived the pharmacology.
