- - What do we know about microplastics?🦋 Every day, we encounter…. ’s too late! @rydd_i_tide 🌊 At this beach, we collected 200 kilos of microplastics, but we only scratched the surface. Digging deeper would damage the ecosystem and do more harm than good.🌈 This beach was last cleaned four years ago, so we can only imagine how quickly microplastics accumulate and embed themselves!🥲 We will continue our cleanup missions and advocacy with the goal of one day never having to see beaches like this again. @handelensm

- - Loading the container is always the fun part - if by fun you also…. 😅 Especially when it’s full of heavy, tangled fishing nets. But with good teamwork, even that becomes easy. 💪 This was just the first container from our week around Søla, near Vega. One week (and a lot of sweat) later, we had cleared 9,500 kg of marine litter from 36 km of coastline. 🧹🌊 Now, our sailboat Fonn is heading north, next stop: Finnmark. It’s my 6th year with them now 🥰 I see the tangled nets we’re pulling from the shore, the plastic we’re hauling off remote coastlines, the team pushing through the exhaustion because we know this matters. - - August on Team Qilak 🌊 This month in Nordland, Qilak has been…. ’s own depots, and carrying out major renovation work. The result: 6 full containers, more than 20 tons of waste removed 🚛💥. In addition, we managed to clean 27 km of coastline, adding another 2,500 kg to the tally. 🚤 Crew: 2 skippers + 10 volunteers 📏 Coastline cleaned: 27 km ⚖️ Waste removed: 20+ tons (6 full containers) + 2,500 kg from beachline A huge month of logistics, heavy lifting, and determined teamwork, proof that large-scale cleanup is possible when passion meets perseverance. 💙
