The first weekend of the Callaghan roundup ended with 542 wild horses captured and three lives lost. On Friday, two helicopters were used to capture 329 horses. Public observers were positioned approximately three miles from a trap site that was completely hidden from view. A filly was later euthanized after suffering a broken leg in temporary holding.
