Six tribal leaders
1900
Six tribal leaders (l to r) Little Plume (Piegan), Buckskin Charley (Ute), Geronimo (Chiricahua Apache), Quanah Parker (Comanche), Hollow Horn Bear (Brulé Sioux), and American Horse (Oglala Sioux) on horseback in ceremonial. Published by the Library of Congress. Edward Curtis staged and manipulated many of his photographs, removing signs of modern life, so the image records his construction as much as the scene.
