last year i was lucky enough to watch the egg-laying behaviours of these glorious birds in the equally magnificent Solomon Islands. Then we enjoyed the bitter-sweet sight of the local people collecting them. There was a time when this was a perfectly reasonable harvest of a natural surplus but, alas, today t looks pretty unsustainable. Wa.
