The bridge was built from August 27, 1936 to November 15, 1937 The bridge was named for BC Liberal premier of the day Duff Pattullo. The bridge was the first purpose built bridge for cars over the lower Fraser River. Before it opened car traffic was carried on the double deck New Westminster b
