Salvaged goods pulled from the rubble of Chinatown

A gelatin silver print attributed to the photographer Stoddard, showing objects recovered from Chinatown after the 1906 earthquake and fire. Such pieces were sold and traded as "relics" to visitors in the months after the disaster, a small trade that grew up in the ruins. The print is held by the DeGolyer Library at Southern Methodist University.
