Chinatown bazaar scene from the Chamber of Commerce visitors' handbook
1914
An illustration from the Chamber of Commerce handbook for San Francisco, a guide for visitors written by Frank Morton Todd and published by the city's Publicity Committee. The accompanying text steers tourists through Chinatown's bazaars and their goods in silver, lacquer, ivory and embroidered silk. The book was issued as the city prepared for the 1915 exposition.
