Three-cent stamp marking a century of California statehood

Issued on 9 September 1950 for the hundredth anniversary of California's admission to the Union. The central vignette shows a miner panning for gold and a pioneer couple beside an ox-drawn wagon; the side panel carries a citrus tree and the ship that brought word of statehood. Engraved by the Bureau of Printing and Engraving.
