Police name teenage suspect in Waymo arson

San Francisco police announced on 17 April 2024 that they had identified a 14-year-old as a suspect in the burning of a driverless Waymo Jaguar on Jackson Street in Chinatown that February. The fire, set during Lunar New Year weekend after a crowd surrounded and smashed the unoccupied car, was reported as the most destructive attack on an autonomous vehicle in the country to that point.
