Wall map detail of the Presidio and northern waterfront
1938
A section cut from a large Thomas Bros wall map of San Francisco, showing streets, transit lines and landmarks across the Presidio, Fort Mason, the Palace of Fine Arts and Fisherman's Wharf. Thomas Bros maps were the standard commercial street guides for California cities. The detail records the northern shoreline as it stood in the late 1930s.
