Waymo opens freeway rides between San Francisco and San Jose

Waymo began public freeway robotaxi service on 12 November 2025, merging its Bay Area territory into a single zone of more than 260 square miles running down the Peninsula. Riders in the early-access group could hail a car in San Francisco and be driven roughly forty-five miles to curbside at San Jose Mineta airport, turning a city-centre novelty into regional infrastructure.
