Despotism (1946)

An Encyclopaedia Britannica classroom film that hands pupils a set of yardsticks - respect, power, economic distribution and control of information - and invites them to measure their own community against them. It is unusual as period material because its subject is how domination is recognised rather than which side to support, which is why it reads as anti-fascist civics more than early Cold War messaging. The film is still a persuasive artefact: its calm scientific manner is itself the rhetoric.
