A contest offered a Taylor Swift concert to the US school receiving the most Facebook votes. Beginning in August 2012, users on 4chan and Reddit voted the Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Boston to the top as a cruel joke. Organisers disqualified the school over irregular voting. Swift and the sponsors each donated $10,000 to the school, VH1's Save the Music added $10,000 in instruments, and every student received concert tickets.
