Reddit's The Button

Reddit launched r/thebutton, showing a button and a 60-second countdown that reset globally every time any user pressed it. Each account could press only once, and pressers received flair coloured by how low the timer had fallen, spawning elaborate factions around waiting. Just over a million people pressed it before the timer reached zero on 5 June 2015. It was created by Josh Wardle, later the creator of Wordle.
