Tim mylrea and the buggane
1882
'Tim Mylrea and the Buggane', an illustration from 'The Phynodderee, and other legends of the Isle of Man', 1882. The Buggane is a malicious shape-shifting giant of Manx legend; the best known one is said to have torn the roof off St Trinian's Church each time builders finished it, which is offered as the reason the chapel stands roofless.
