The White Boys at Ramsey (Rhumsaa), 2021. UNESCO's 2009 classification of Manx was contested on the island by linguist Jennifer Kewley Draskau, who argued that a language people hold productive conversations in is 'very much alive and well'; UNESCO later reclassified it as critically endangered.
