The record that took kwaito out of the townships and onto every radio format in South Africa, written by Mduduzi 'Mandoza' Tshabalala and produced by Gabi Le Roux. Kwaito is house slowed to roughly 110bpm - its makers said so plainly - and Nkalakatha is the point where that South African house tempo became a national pop language.
