The Vintage House Show crew put the genre's most contested question to the pioneers themselves, backstage at the Chicago House Music Conference. The answers do not agree, which is the point: the founding of house is a live dispute between Jesse Saunders, Chip E., Vince Lawrence, Frankie Knuckles' Warehouse crowd and the DJs who were simply there.
