Ron Trent plays Ash Lauryn's Underground & Black room at Boiler Room's New York festival, staged under the city's Covid restrictions. Lauryn built that platform to keep the credit for dance music with the Black people who made it, and Trent, Chicago deep house, co-founder of Prescription Records, is that lineage in person. Seventy-five minutes of the long, unhurried deep house he has played since the early 1990s.
