Jeremy Deller's film, built from a lecture delivered to a class of A-level politics students, arguing that acid house in Britain was not a spontaneous import but a response to the miners' strike, deindustrialisation and Thatcherism. It is the strongest single argument in the archive that the Second Summer of Love was political before it was hedonistic, and it keeps the Chicago and New York origins of the music in view rather than starting the story in Ibiza.
