Akai MPC60, the sampler that changed the workflow

The most thorough of the MPC histories the scout returned: origins, Roger Linn's design, the sampling workflow and the swing that gave the machine its feel. The MPC60 arrived in 1988 and put sampling and sequencing in one box, which is how the sample-built side of house, the disco loop, the stolen string stab, became something one person could do alone in a bedroom.
