The biggest South African record of the 1990s, from the Memeza album, made with the kwaito-era studio machinery that had grown up around Fassie. It sits exactly where township pop and slowed house met, and it is the record most South Africans name from the period. Her phrasing carries the same gospel line that runs under house everywhere.
