Roland's own engineers describing how the TR-909's sounds were arrived at, the digital samples and MIDI that separated it from the TR-808 it succeeded. Notable because the company states flatly on the record that house and techno were born out of this machine, an admission about a product it discontinued as a commercial disappointment.
