A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray

Gerald Simpson's Manchester record was the first British acid house track to become a genuine hit: a 303 line, a Roland drum machine and a chopped vocal sample that became one of the most recognisable hooks in British dance music. Released on Rham! in 1988, it proved the Chicago sound could be made in England without imitating it.
