What we protect defines who we are. In 1981, Seychelles chose to protect Aldabra by recognising it as a special reserve. A year later, in 1982, it was granted UNESCO World Heritage Status. Aldabra is much more than a backdrop for tourism. It’s a home to extraordinary life. At Friends of Aldabra, the protection of Aldabra has always been our compass.
