Major Thomson lying in state at Durrës

The body of Major Lodewijk Thomson before his coffin was closed at Durrës, with a simple wreath from his Dutch comrades. Thomson led the Dutch military mission sent to organise a gendarmerie for the new Albanian state and was killed in the fighting there in June 1914.
